yup..not sure if you guys have ever wondered: why is my blog add "daretobeadaniel.blogspot.com"..WHO'S DANIEL???? Daniel means "God is my Judge"..
well, he's not just any daniel that you find on the streets today, neither is he someone that i was secretly admiring in the past.but, he was indeed alive on this earth..thousand of yrs ago..the BC age..when Israel was under the captivity of Babylon..
you see, Daniel was a major prophet of God! and i was really blessed to be able to study the bk of Daniel from the bible while waiting for my a lvl results 3 yrs ago..and yest, pastor preached on Daniel being a man of prayer..which gave me a whole new perspective about this godly man..
before yest's sermon, i knew Daniel as a man who chose to seek after God's heart..when King Nebuchadnezzar (sounds familiar?) of Babylon gave Daniel food from idols..choice food..food only ate by a king, Daniel asked to live on vegtables and water instead.cos he did not want to disobey God..and God blessed him so much. With wisdom from God, Daniel began interpreting dreams and visions for kings throughout 3 monarchs in Babylon..
Daniel was a man of purpose & courage..King Darius (aft King Nebuchadnezzar) passed a decree that no one can put forth any petitions to anyone, except to him. the consequences of doing that was being sent into a den of lions. Daniel, however, continued to put forth his petitions to God 3 times a day..and he did it openly. For his faithfulness, God preserved him from the lions!!
Now you know why Daniel is such a special name? ha..cos he was a man after God's heart, something every believer should strive to do..
