a very blessed christmas to everyone!!! yes, once again it is time to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. this yr, our praise service was held on the 23rd instead of christmas eve. it was a good service and after it, we had carolling!!! yup..went to 3 homes in total..though it was not many, the carollers still had fun singing and eating the delicious food prepared ha..at least i enjoyed myself! spent the night at gwyn's home but was too tired to do any chatting..sighs. thank you guys for the lovely presents : )
amidst the celebration, let's not neglect the true meaning of Christmas! just as we receive presents from our friends, God gave you and me a gift too..2000 yrs ago. and this gift cannot be bought with any amount of money one can afford. this gift is priceless. and finally, this gift we do not deserve was given to us for free. yup! this gift is Jesus Christ, who came to this earth, born in a humble manger (a place where farm animals were kept in old Israel) with the purpose of dying for our sins (wrongdoings) on the cross. and He rose triumphantly on the third day, defeating death!! because of Jesus, our sins can be washed away and we can enter into Heaven.
this is the true meaning of Christmas..it is not about the booze, the amount of presents one can get.the foo, Santa Claus with that reindeer and his elves. it is about Christ, it is His birthday! but like what my pastor always says, during your birthday, you'd not want to be neglected. you would want to be the centre of attention. Christmas is the birthday of Jesus Christ but the birthday boy is neglected by most of the world. imagine how you will feel if the loved ones celebrate your birthday but they forget that it's all bout you completely. this is how Christ feels. He loves us all, but many times, we celebrate this occasion without remembering Him.
for those who have not considered having Jesus in your life, i plead with you to please do consider now! "Jesus is the ONLY one who can get your sins forgiven, Who can bring you to Heaven, Who can bring you to God." there is NO OTHER way!! our time on earth is unknown and limited so let's not regret not making the decision to have Christ in our lives!
the gift is already presented to you and me. i've already accepted this gift and i'm sure that i'll be going to Heaven when i die. have you accepted this gift?
